About Us

The Finance Department is a very important department of the Government of Maharashtra. It is responsible for preparing the annual budget of the state government based on the statutory and operational requirements of the Constitution and presenting it to the Legislative Assembly.Publishing the gender budget  and child budget  statement during the budget session, keeping a close watch on the government’s daily balance with the Reserve Bank of India, taking necessary and prompt measures to ensure that the fiscal position remains sound,To prepare advance estimates of the state’s financial management income and expenditure and to take various measures to make adequate funds available for the implementation of various schemes for the development of the state and public welfare,Important responsibilities such as basic operations related to the department (Proper) and the offices under its jurisdiction as well as policies related to the service matters of officers/employees are carried out through the Finance Department.
